Karen L. McVickers

Age 45 of Braidwood passed away unexpectedly Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Riverside Medical Center.

Born February 23, 1971 in Evergreen Park, Karen enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly by gardening. She also had an affinity for collecting fairies, and above all else, cherished being a grandmother to all of her grandchildren, whom were precious to her.

Survivors include her children: Terri (Richard) Balcom of Gardner, Jeffrey Gourley of Pontiac, Brandi Watson of Dwight, Stacy Dewitt of Gardner, and Sam Dewitt of Braidwood; six grandchildren; one brother: Scott (Theresa) McVickers of Georgia; several nieces and nephews, and special friends: Jason Anderson, Steve and Angie Zeb, and Cindy Grims.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and video tribute will be Thursday July 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 7:00 p.m., at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Karen’s memory to the family for their distribution.
