Age 54 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2014 at her home.

Born August 14, 1959 in Chicago, Karen Marie was a daughter of the late Donald and Bernice Van Duynea�"Alcorn.

Karen's family meant the world to her, and she is survived by her loving companion John Zarack; son Robert Lerfald of Boca Raton, Florida; sister Sue (Roger) Daniell of Wilmington; nieces and nephew: Rachel (Joe) Conforti of Sparks, Nevada, Nate (Suzy) Daniell of Aurora, Colorado and Abby Daniell (fiancAC. Will Barry) of Salt Lake City, Utah; five great nieces and nephews: Sabrina and Siena Conforti and Nathan, Claire and Chloe Daniell, and aunts and uncles: Dennis (Shirley) Van Duyne of Coal Valley, Illinois, Herman (Martina) Van Duyne of Panama City, Panama, and Geraldine Van Duyne, Margaret Van Duyne and Joan Van Duyne, all of Wilmington, as well as many cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents: Alva and Jenny Alcorn and Peter and Gertrude Van Duyne; parents Donald and Bernice Alcorn, and two children: Hope Marie Lerfald and Jackson Lerfald, both in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 6, 2014 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Braidwood, where Karen will be laid to rest with her daughter Hope.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Karen's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage.
