Age 90 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday August 24, 2010 at her home.

Born December 1, 1919 in Catlin, Illinois, Julia was a daughter of the late Conrad Joseph and Harriet Mae Taylor-Howard. She was a graduate of Coal City High School and was married to Estie McLouth, who preceded her in death on August 21, 1979. Julie's employment included the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, The telephone company, where she worked as a switchboard operator, and Factory to You Furniture, where she was a sales clerk. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, belonged to the Wilmington Chapter of the VFW Auxiliary and was a member of the Aleda C. Walker Chapter of the Morris Daughters of the American Revolution. Julie participated in a great deal of volunteer work, which included collecting eyeglasses for the Lions Club and assisting with community paper drives. She can be remembered for living life to the fullest and always having a good time. Julie wintered many years in Florida and was a great care-taker, as well as an incredible support to her family. She was also proud to have been the oldest surviving member of the Tom Taylor family of Catlin, Illinois.

Survivors include her nephew Conrad (Beverly) Stanley of Rangely, Colorado; niece Kathy (Van) Marma of Braceville; five great nieces and nephews: Cassie Ivey of Wyoming, Michigan, Dennis (Meaghan) Ivey of Crest Hill, Kerry Ivey of Braceville and Conrad Estie "Etty" Stanley and Beth Stanley, both of Wilmington and one great-great nephew Camden Ivey.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Rachel Stanley and dear friend Jack Kurth.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Friday August 27, 2010 from 4:00PM until time of funeral service 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Pastor Mark Moon from the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington will officiate and a private family interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Julie's memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, 301 North Kankakee Street, Wilmington, IL 60481 or Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
