Judy A. Peterson

Judy A. Peterson, 71, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center in Morris.
She was born September 3, 1949 to Leslie M. and Madelon A. (Price) Peterson at Morris Hospital.
Judith is survived by her twin sister, Joyce (Tom) Alderson; her brothers, Donald L. Peterson and William L. (Pam Pierce) Peterson; her nieces, Lori (Joe) Jasmine, Lisa (Bill) Korlath, Cynthia (Jim) Milton, Diana (Rob) Grinton, Heather (Jerry) Miller, Courtney (Nick) Lozen and Katherine (Ashley) Tillard; her nephews, Leslie Peterson, Kurt (Patty) Peterson, Lance (Julie) Peterson, Brett (Tilly) Peterson and Ryan (Rachel) Alderson and by many great nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by two specific friends in life, Barbra Farrero of Morris and Terri Stoker of Ohio and many other good friends in life.
Judith was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Price; her parents, Leslie M. Peterson (1981) and Madelon A. Peterson (2016); her oldest brother, Jack M. Peterson and special friend, Mrs. Marilyn Hummel of Cabery, IL.
Judith attended Morris school graduating from Center School in 1963 and Morris Community High School in 1967.
Judith attended California Lutheran Bible School of Los Angeles, California from 1967-1968.
She was employed at Tastee Freeze, Franklin St., Morris and Saratoga Inn Rt. 47, Morris during her days of high school.
She was employed for 11 years at Federal Paper Board in Morris until it closed March 1980. Judith was then employed for IL. Dept. of Corrections at Dwight Correctional Center for 22 years, retiring in 2002 as a Correctional Captain.
Judith spent her retirement years traveling to visit family and friends in many states. She also spent her retirement years being caregiver to her special aunt, Evelyn R. Price of Marseilles, IL. and her mother Madelon. Judith also caregiver to anyone who needed a ride to many hospitals in area, needed food, or just a ride to work or a visit. She spent many hours in her car.
Judith’s pallbearers will be her nephews, Jim Milton, Rob Grinton, Kurt Peterson, Leslie Peterson, Jerry Miller, Eric Peterson, Ryan Alderson and Nick Lozen.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Judge Lance Peterson officiating.
