Joyce I. Ziegenfuss

Joyce I. Ziegenfuss, 93, of Morris, passed away early Sunday morning, January 10, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Born January 11, 1927 in Emmaus, Pa, the daughter of Earl and Mabel (Thomas) Apgar. She received her education in the schools of Emmaus. Joyce married Paul Ziegenfuss on October 30, 1948 and they lived most of their married life in Morris. She was employed for several years at Center Grade School in Morris and later at the Morris Paper Mill and Park Motel.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Kathie (Kevin, deceased) Egeland of Crystal Lake, Paula (David) Kunzmann of East Moline, Il and Tina Sistek of Morris; her son-in-law, Bruce Egeland of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Egeland of Long Grove, Jason (Shannon) Egeland of Minooka, Joey (Heather) Egeland of Schaumburg, Corrie (David) Timmons of Seneca, Mark (Megan) Egeland of Chicago, and Shawn Kunzmann of Davenport, Iowa; six great grandchildren, Eliana and Anabelle Egeland, Bryce Egeland, Mariella, Rhett and Ivy Timmons; two brothers, Glenn (Barbara) Apgar and John (Faye) Apgar; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Paul on April 6, 2005; her daughter, Debbie Egeland in 2014; Preceding in death her 4 brothers, Neal, Byron, Billy and Bruce Apgar; one sister, Caroline Knauss.
She attended New Community Christian Church.
Joyce enjoyed playing games and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved playing her weekly game of Parcheesi with her granddaughter Corrie and especially loved to rub it in when she would win. She was especially thankful and loved her recent caregiver, Susan who always won at rummy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Community Christian Church in Morris with Rev. Kevin Yandell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
