Joshua T. Cumming

Age 27 of Coal City passed away Saturday April 23, 2011.

Born May 14, 1983 in Morris, Josh is a son of Sandra J. Hennessy (nee Bunzel) of Coal City and Todd R. Cumming of Carbon Hill. He was raised and educated in Coal City and was a graduate of Coal City High School, where he participated in football, baseball and golf. Josh was currently attending Illinois State University and was due to graduate in May of 2011 with a degree in economics and business. He was currently working as a one-on-one aid with the Coal City School District, and he had a love for all sports, playing softball in both Carbon Hill and Joliet.

Survivors include his parents: Sandy (Shawn) Hennessy of Coal City and Todd Cumming of Carbon Hill; two brothers: Ryan (Breann Hammitt) Cumming of Carbon Hill, Corey (Jacqueline) Rose, who are stationed with the US Coast Guard in New Orleans; one sister: Tori Cumming of Carbon Hill; one step-sister: Hannah Hennessy and one step-brother: Shain Hennessy both of Morris: his maternal grandmother: Ruth Bunzel of Coal City and paternal grandmother Katy Cumming of Lewisville, Indiana; one uncle: Bob Bunzel of Morris and one aunt: Beth Shores of Lewisville, Indiana, as well as special friends: Katie Smith and Betsy Elberts both of Coal City.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Bob Bunzel and Rogers Cumming and one uncle Tom Parks

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Assumption Berst Center, located at 200 South Kankakee Street (at Carbon Street - one block South of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City from 2:00 pm until time of Life Celebration at 8:00 pm, with Kenneth P. Miller officiating.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Josh's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
