Joseph Wayne Martingello, Jr.

Age 45 of Braidwood, formerly Chicago, passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born October 31, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, Joseph Wayne is a son of Joseph Wayne Martingello Sr. and Carol Ann Higgins.  He was raised and educated in Chicago and Hinsdale, and was employed by Eighteen Wheeler Truck Center in Channahon as an assistant general manager.  Joseph had a strong work ethic, and was known for his kind, generous heart.  He will be remembered for his passion for reading, especially crime and mystery novels, and camping and the outdoors.

Survivors include his mother: Carol Higgins of Godley; his father: Joseph Martingello, Sr. of California; three children: Alexis, Makayla and Eien Martingello; nine sisters: Sherrie, Jolene, Candy, Elizabeth, Nikki, Jennifer, Kristen, Ashley and Sarah; numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friend and life partner: Anya Khlonova.

Joseph was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Higgins.

Visitation and video tribute will be Thursday April 14, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m., at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington, with Pastor Greg Linkous officiating.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Joseph’s memory to the donor’s choosing, or to the family for their distribution.
