John J. Jacklich, Sr.
Age 94 of Mesa, Arizona and formerly Carbon Hill, passed away Monday April 21, 2008.
Born June 3, 1913 in Carbon Hill, John is a son of the late Jacob and Anna Klobucher-Jacklich. On January 22, 1938 John married Florence VanDuyne in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and together they lived most of their married life in Carbon Hill prior to moving to Arizona. John was a master of many trades and was a self employed carpenter, electrician, stone mason and builder, as well as held many other talents.
Survivors include his loving wife Florence; children: Jack (Marion) Jacklich of Florida, Donald (Sheila) Jacklich of Illinois, Robert (Nancy) Jacklich of Texas, Richard Jacklich and Mark (Tonya) Jacklich, both of Illinois and Janet (Raymond) VanDeWalle of Indiana. (12) Grandchildren: (12) Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one son Billy and one granddaughter Janene.
Visitation will be held on Sunday April 27, 2008 between the hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.
Funeral services will follow on Monday April 28th at 10:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Donald Dyer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington and John's five sons and grandson Donald, Jr. will act as pallbearers.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Johns Memory to Kuzma Care Cottage or St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
