John C. Gallagher

Age 53 of Orlando , Florida and formerly the Wilmington area, passed away suddenly Monday January 15, 2007 in Brunswick , Georgia .

Born March 04, 1953 in Morgantown , West Virginia , John is a son of Mary (Bittaker) and the late Lawrence Gallagher. John was a graduate of Wilmington High School , retired from the US Air Force and was currently employed as a C.P.A. for North American Clearing of Longwood, Florida . He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan who greatly enjoyed spring training and also football. John was very proud of his Irish heritage.

Survivors include his loving wife Marian (Cunningham); three sons: Matthew of Jackson, Florida, James of Memphis, Tennessee and Cody William of Charlotte , North Carolina . His mother Mary Bittaker of New Lenox; one sister Martha (Joe) Squellati of Wilmington and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his father and one brother Franklin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 21, 2007 between the hours of 2:00PM and 5:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street ) in Wilmington . The Rosary will then be lead by Deacon Donald Dyer from Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington on Monday January 22nd at 9:00AM with services following at 10AM in the funeral home. Pastor Greta McDonald from the New Lenox United Methodist Church will officiate the funeral service and burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
