John Galan

Age 92 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday afternoon April 8, 2012 at Heritage Health in Dwight.

Born January 25, 1920 in Chicago, John was a son of the late George and Mary Bort-Galan. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, until being honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on July 27, 1946.

Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment for John and his late wife Mary will be held in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, on Friday May 11, 2012 at 2:00PM. Family and friends wishing to attend the graveside services may meet at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington Friday at 1:15PM for a procession to the cemetery at 1:30PM.
