John T. Buchnat
"Red-O-Boy"
Age 78 of Wilmington and formerly Chicago passed away Saturday April 3rd at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Born December 5, 1930 to the late John T. Sr. and Phyllis Dembicki-Buchnat. John retired from US Steel. He was a graduate of Chicago Vocational HS and served in the US Air force as an Airman 1st Class. John was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed the casinos, his cars, coin collecting and the time spent with his family.
Survived by one sister Netty Zielinski of Wilmington; one brother Stanley (the late Arlene) Buchnat of Lansing, IL; special nephew and niece Robert and Patricia Deacetis of Wilmington; six great nieces and nephews and (12) great-great nieces and nephews.
John was preceded by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be Thursday April 8th from 4-8PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Friday April 9th at 10AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer will officiate and burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
