Age 71 of Wilmington passed away peacefully at his home on August 2, 2009

He was born to Sam and Laura (Vertucci) Rossi in Steger, IL on May 9, 1938.

Jack spent years in the printing field before retiring from Will County Highway Department in 2006 after 20 years. He is currently precinct committeeman and chairman of Wesley Township, a member of the Regional School Board, the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Support Committee, and a member of Kuzma Council Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Restoration Advisory Board, served eight years as a Wesley Township Trustee, and two years as the Wesley Township Supervisor. He was a Rialto Volunteer for eighteen years, past Grand Knight of the Kuzma Council and a 4th Degree Knight.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara; four children Laura Henderson of Indianapolis, Paul (Beth) of Manteno, Ellen (Chuck) of Joliet, and Tom (Michelle) of Joliet; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild; 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; 2 brothers; 1 brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5th from 2 to 8pm with the Rosary at 7pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington, IL. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, August 6th at 10:00 am in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Steven Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington and pallbearers will be: Christopher O'Connor, Ian Henderson, Shane Rossi, Sarah Rossi, Erica Rossi and Bryan Rossi.

Preferred memorials may be made as memorials in Jack's memory Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Support Committee.
