Age 83 of Wilmington, and originally Bellingham, Washington, passed away Tuesday September 15, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born April 12, 1932 in Bellingham, Mary JoAnne was a daughter of the late Walter and Grace (Bainter) Riffe. After high school, she went on to complete nurses training, and on September 19, 1953, JoAnne married Raymond F. Worden in Bellingham. She was a full time mom and later grandma, as well as a registered nurse in obstetrics. Most recently JoAnne was employed with LifeTouch School Photography, from where she retired in 2004. A wonderful cook, who always enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, fishing, sewing and reading, JoAnne will most be remembered as one who was always helping others.

Survivors include her husband Raymond; children: Mary Jo (Craig) Anderson of West Lafayette, Indiana, Scott (Jeanne) Worden of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Marty (Mary) Worden of Hartland, Wisconsin,  Kim Ganzer (Bill Leslie) of Chicago; son-in-law Robert Ganzer of Australia; grandchildren: Jennifer (Kevin) Thompson, Dan Worden, Ryan Worden, Ben (Danielle) Worden, Kyle Natoli, Michele (Joshua) Knuth, Holly (Adam) Crouse, Virginia (Jaimie) Bush, Havilah (Santiago) Colon, Melissa Worden, Jonathon Worden, Alisha Worden, Caleb Ganzer, Kendra (Rob) Smith and Kyle Ganzer; great-grandchildren: Samantha, Hunter, Danny, Sophia, Wyatt, Fiona, Aubriella, Ryder, Clayton, Trent, Brook Ann, Darek, Titan and Nolan, with another expected in February, and numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Don and Noel Riffe.

Visitation will be held at First Assembly of God, 1741 Essington Road in Joliet on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 p.m. Pastor Jim Arnold will officiate, and a private family burial will follow Monday in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in JoAnne’s memory to Morning Star Mission, Living Alternatives of Joliet or First Assembly of God Church.
