Jo Ann Yackly

Age 72 of Wilmington passed away Monday May 4, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born January 13, 1943 in Joliet, Jo Ann was a daughter of the late Floyd and Alberta Kehnast-Marchetti. She was raised and educated in Joliet, and graduated from Joliet Township High School with the Class of 1961. On July 11, 1964, Jo Ann married Franklin Edwin Yackly III at Richard’s Street Methodist Church in Joliet.  She was employed by Doc’s Drugs Pharmacy in Wilmington for 23 years, and previously by First National Bank of Wilmington for 15 years.  Jo Ann loved to travel, as well as sewing and knitting.  She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and for her love of her two “babies” Milli and Cubby Bear.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years: Franklin; one daughter: Janet (Steve) Robbins of Wilmington; eight grandchildren: Matthew (Brittany) Cherveny and Marc Cherveny, both of Centerville, Ohio, Nate and Clay Cherveny, both of Lima, Ohio, and Steven, Holly, Noelle and Patrick Robbins, all of Wilmington; two sisters: Carol (Robert) Bredesen of Fairview, Tennessee, and Betty (Glen) Immekus of North Las Vegas, Nevada; one son-in-law: Matthew Cherveny of Lima, Ohio; three aunts: Annabelle Combs of West Virginia, Annamae Rocker of Benld, Illinois and Norma Kehnast of Staunton, Illinois, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Jennifer Cherveny.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Thursday May 7, 2015 between 4:00 and 8:00 PM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington. Funeral Services will be on Friday May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with Deacon Milt Leppert officiating.  Burial will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jo Ann’s memory to Kuzma Care Cottage or the American Cancer Society.
