Joan L. Wilhelm

Age 64 of Coal City, passed away Monday March 28, 2011 at Walnut Grove Village in Morris, after a long illness and disability.

She leaves to mourn her husband of 36 years, Herman of Coal City; sister Lois (Ron) Taylor of Godley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan grew up near South Wilmington and graduated with the Reddick High School Class of 1965. She was a generous and loving person who was liked by all who knew her. She loved her garden, yard full of fruit trees and flowers. Joan can also be remembered for always keeping up with old friends. She spent many happy times with nieces and nephews, as well as neighborhood kids who could always count on cookies or popcorn, along with a friendly visit after school. She will truly be missed by all.

Private services were accorded per Joan's wishes by Pastor John Calcote from the First Baptist Church of Coal City and burial was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. A memorial service for Joan will be held at a later date.
