Joan D. Deming
Age 65 of Wilmington, passed away Monday morning, May 13, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Born July 27, 1947 in Eugene, Oregon, Joan is a daughter of Velta "June" Lindsay-Bennett of Carbondale and the late Clarence Ogle Bennett. She was raised and educated in Carbondale and bartended for many years. Joan will be remembered for working in Wilmington, Morris and New Lenox. She also held employment with L&L Video in Wilmington and at the Hampton Inn in Joliet. Joan enjoyed crafts and bowling. She was a huge movie buff, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother June Bennett of Carbondale; son Dwayne Deming and daughter Teresa (Virgil) Fisher, both of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Jacob Fisher and Meghan Fisher; two sisters: Margaret (the late Jim) Arnett of Michigan and Elaine (Tim) Sims of Missouri; one brother Ernie Bennett of Murphysboro, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her father Clarence Bennett and two sisters: Carolyn Jane and Erma Dene.
The family will receive friends on Friday May 17, 2013 from 4:00PM until time of memorial service 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Pastor Caleb Counterman from Faith Baptist Church in Goose Lake will officiate.
