Joan E. Bunton

Joan E. Bunton, 64, of Morris, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born September 11, 1958 in Minooka, she was the daughter of Donald and Lois (Thorson) Steffes. She graduated from Minooka High school with the class of 1976. She married Jim Bunton on June 5, 1976 and they lived most of their married life in Morris.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Jamie Derment of Rutland, Jill (Mitch) Wiekert of Morris and Bob Bunton of New York; her grandchildren, Henry, Emily, Lizzie, James and Ann; two sisters, Joy (Tom) Brown of Chino Valley, AZ, and Lori (Wendell) Kinnan of Carrolton, KY ; one brother, Donald (Carl) Steffes of Idyllwild, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Doris Steffes; one brother, Lonnie Steffes; her son-in-law, Aaron Derment.
She enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Pieces of the Heart Quilt Guild and Illinois Valley Quilt Guild and was an avid wood worker.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
