Age 78 of Wesley Township passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his home.
Born April 16, 1946, in Kankakee, Illinois, Jimmie Allen was a son of Francis O. and Anna M. (Harding) Warriner. He was raised in Wesley Township and attended the Wilmington Schools.
Jimmie’s career began as an auto mechanic, and went on to owning and operating the Shell gas station when it was located at Route 66 and Kankakee Street in Wilmington. He also farmed most of his life and worked for Wesley Township.
In addition to farming, Jimmie enjoyed working on vehicles, fishing and showing his Farmall tractors at the Threshermans Show.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Lou (Norm) Fanning of Elwood, Illinois and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; (7) siblings: Francis A. Warriner, Martha Bishop, Gene (Mary) Warriner, Dale Warriner, Ruth (Ray) Skrowronski, Della (Ray) Calhoun and Glen Warriner in infancy; one niece and one nephew.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jimmie’s memory to his family.
