Jimmie Troutt

Jimmie Ray Troutt

Age 77 of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Aperion Health in Wilmington.

Born June 24, 1938 in West Frankfort, Illinois, Jimmie was a son of the late James Samuel and Ethel (Neal) Troutt. He was a 1957 graduate of West Frankfort High School, and after graduation relocated to New Mexico to work in the uranium mines. After returning to West Frankfort one year later, Jimmie's employment moved him to Lockport, where he worked for Material Services and then to Wilmington, where he held employment with Diamond International. He spent 15 years in Milwaukee, before returning to Wilmington, where he made his home near his kids. After retirement, Jimmie worked at both Big R and Wal-Mart in Morris, and it was here that he made many friends. An active member of Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington, Jimmie enjoyed fishing, wood crafts and motorcycling in his free time. He was an outgoing, true people person who never knew a stranger. Jimmie was quite the prankster, had a sense of humor that was contagious and loved to make people laugh. He cherished his family and will be remembered for his favorite pass time, which was sitting in his chair in the driveway, talking to those walking by and sharing Jesus with everyone.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years: Shirley (nee Stines), whom he married November 28, 1959 in West Frankfort. Four children: Sue Ellen (Victor) Reynolds of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Mary Ann (Daniel) Pellack of Braidwood, James Allen (Julie) Troutt of St. Pete's Beach, Florida and Steven (Pamela) Troutt of Minooka; (9) grandchildren: Thomas “T.J” Brimm, Christopher Brimm, Lance (Alyssa) Reynolds, Vic Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds, Joshua Pellack, Kyle (Heather) Pellack, Brooke Pellack and Dustin Nicholson; (9) great grandchildren; two sisters: Janis (Donald) Lamkin and JoAnn Green; two sisters-in-law: Veronica Troutt and Shirley Stines, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jerry Troutt and two brothers-in-law: Peter Stines and Ira Green.
