Jimmie M. Dixon

Age 70 of Morris, was carried home by the Angels to be with the Lord on Monday February 8, 2016, at home with his loving wife by his side.

Born February 21. 1945 in Camp Blanding, Florida, Jimmie was a son of the late Jimmie Owen and Ida Marie (Owen) Dixon.  He was raised and educated in Fritch, Texas, and on June 22, 1968, Jimmie married Karen Jean Willett in Morris. He was employed with the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America for 28 years as a maintenance and corrosion technician, and then went on to own and operate Dr. Vinyl of Kane and DuPage County from 1999 to 2013.  Jimmie was an active member of Phelan Acres Bible Church, where he served as deacon and song leader.  Music was his passion, and he took pleasure in playing the guitar. Jimmie often performed concerts at local nursing homes and assisted living establishments as an Elvis impersonator singing gospel songs. Jimmie also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, as well as collecting and working on old cars. He was proud of his 1928 Model A, and was in the process of restoring a 1933 Ford short-bed pickup truck.  He cherished being at home with his wife, and spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren, who were the love of his life. Jimmie was a licensed minister who dearly loved the Lord and took great pleasure in being of service to the Lord. He was a selfless soul, who will be remembered as a hard worker that could do anything. He had a wealth of wisdom, and blessed others by sharing his gifts with anyone that knew him.
