Age 93 and a lifelong resident of Coal City, passed away Sunday January 21, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet.

Born August 29, 1913 in rural Coal City, Jessie was a daughter of the late Earl and Jean (McLuckie) Wills. She was raised and educated in the Coal City Area and was a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, where she earned her Masters Degree in Education. Jessie taught at Jugtown School and later within the Coal City and Wilmington School Districts until her retirement. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City and the Retired Teachers Association. Jessie greatly enjoyed her family and gardening.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Jean Ann (Wilfred) Robinson of Morris, Janet (Rodney) Nunemaker of New Jersey, Ramona (Gerald) Lanier of Sycamore, Roberta (Bill) Allen of Ohio, James (Paula) Holderman of LaGrange, Carol Jean (Bob) Beaver of Braidwood and Marylyn (David) Paulsen, Kaleen Kelly and Anne (David) Swanson, all of California. (18) Great Nieces and Nephews and (8) beloved Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, as well as her sister-in-law Mary (Wendell) Barrett of California.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul "Patsy" Redmond (1976), two sisters: Ruth (James F.) Holderman and Ramona (Lindsay) Gilmour; one brother Robert (Victoria) Wills and two nephews: David Holderman in infancy and Bobby Wills.

Visitation will be held on Thursday January 25, 2007 from 10:00AM until time of funeral services 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rev. Larry Boutelle from New Hope Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Jessie's memory to New Hope Presbyterian Church or Coal City Fireman's Association.
