Jesse E. Bierman

Age 68 of Wilmington and formerly New Lenox, passed away peacefully Sunday September 2, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 22, 1939 in Rock Island, Illinois, Jesse was a son of the late Floyd K. and Jessie Mae (Green) Bierman. He was a graduate of Alleman High School in Rock Island and attended St. Ambrose College. Jesse was employed for International Harvester / Navistar for over 44 years and was working as a Warranty Analyst at the time of his retirement in 2007. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, and formerly St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manhattan, where he was an usher for many years.

Survivors include his dear wife Cynthia nee Gustafson; two sons: Joseph E. (Linda) Bierman of Bradley and Michael (Dawn) Bierman of Wilmington; one daughter: Michelle Sciacero of Frankfort; one sister Barbara (Bill) Lawrence of Rock Island; brother-in-law Tom Slocum of Geneseo; four grandchildren: Britny, Mathew and Jessie Mae Bierman and Joshua (Stephanie) Henson and one great grandson Gavin Henson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Floyd K. Bierman, Jr. and one sister Marilyn Slocum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 06, 2007 between the hours of 3:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Friday September 7th at 10:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating.

Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Jesse's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
