Jean M. Zimmerman

Jean M. Zimmerman, 70, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Morris Hospital with her family by her side.
Born June 7, 1953 in Coal City, she was the daughter of Harold and Altha (Hooper) Armstrong. She graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1971. Later she received an associate degree from JJC with honors. Jean married Robert Zimmerman Sr. on March 24, 1974 in Morris and they lived most of their married life in Morris. For many years she was manager of the Morris Mobile gas station.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Sr. of Morris; her children, Christina Zimmerman of Morris, Jennifer (Scott) Bates of Lombard, Michael and Chad Zimmerman both of Morris; grandsons, Camdon and Jaxon Bates; sister-in-law, Nancy Armstrong of Morris; nieces, Becky and Jodi Armstrong, Richelle (Todd, deceased) Sandeno, and Michelle (Chris) Zenzie; good friend, Janice Barendt.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Martin and Robert Armstrong; sister, Lynn Armstrong; grandson, Austin Zimmerman and stepfather, Edmond Kilbride.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morris and volunteered for the Disabled Veterans.
Jean was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed making monster cookies with her friends and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and many friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 starting at 10:30 A.M. with funeral services to follow at Calvary Baptist Church on George St. in Morris with Pastor Phil Arnold officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
