Jean E. Oliver
Born January 1, 1918 in Symerton, Jean was a daughter of the late Fred and Jean Kirk-Oliver. She was raised in Symerton and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Bennett Industries in Peotone for 27 years and Peddinghaus Corporation in Kankakee for 15 years. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and Jean greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving niece Penny (William) Kukec of Naperville; two great nieces: Jacqueline (Christopher) Bennett of Joliet and Joanne (Michael) Patterson of Oswego; two great-great nieces: Reagan Ballantyne Bennett and Abigail Jean Patterson and one great-great nephew Chase Christopher Bennett.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Jean Kirk-Oliver and two sisters: Marian Toney and Alice (John) Mackender, all formerly of Symerton, as well as one niece Bonnie Jean Mackender and one nephew Jack Mackender.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 11, 2008 from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington, where Pastor Mark Hughey of the First Presbyterian Church of DuPage in Bolingbrook will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington and pallbearers will be: David Sorenson, Don Telford, Kenneth Sorenson, Christopher Bennett, Michael Patterson and Robert Barr.
