Jaunita Reader
Age 87 of Coal City, passed away Monday February 21, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born September 14, 1923 in Morris, Jaunita was a daughter of the late George and Audrey Victoria Brelsford-Schrock. She was employed by the United States Government and worked for APSA at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant prior to being transferred to the Rock Island Armory, where she retired from in 1984. Jaunita was a member of the Eastern Star, where she was past worthy matron of the Mazon Lodge and was a former member of the Sweet Adeline's. Jaunita had a love of flowers and gardening, canning, cooking, baking, picture taking and the Christmas season. She can be remembered for her crocheting, sewing and quilts, and in her free time enjoyed playing pinochle and going to the casino.
Survivors include her three children: Venita Jean Fox of San Antonio, Texas, Charles William Reader of Coal City and Chester Franklin (Sandra) Reader of Plainfield. three grandchildren: Eugene Reader of Coal City, Kelsie (Rick) Troy of Cedar Lake, Indiana and Kerbie (fiance' Roger Liao) Reader of Chicago and two great grandchildren: Cheyanne Troy and Braelynne Troy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jaunita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Weintz Reader; two brothers: Oliver Josiah Schrock and George Schrock and one grandson Brian Quinn Reader.
The family will receive friends on Thursday February 24, 2011 from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jaunita's memory to the American Heart Association.
