Janet "Jane" Lindstrand

Age 79 of Janesville, Wisconsin, formerly of Morris, Illinois, died on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Janesville.

Born December 28, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, Janet Lorraine was a daughter of James and Janet (Anderson) Bradley. She was raised and educated in Taylor Ridge, Illinois, where she graduated from Rock Ridge High School with the Class of 1963. Jane would later pursue her teaching degree so she could begin her career as an educator. She was proud to be a teacher of English and Language Arts, working primarily in the Plainfield, Illinois school district. Jane began at Indian Trail Middle School in 1976 and also taught at Walkers Grove Elementary and Timber Ridge Middle School. She also made many life long friends with the teachers she worked with, spending much of their retirement time traveling around together, and they were affectionately known to one another as the "The Froggies".

Jane was a past member of Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Lockport, Illinois and was a member of the Goose Lake Prairie Partners, helping to maintain the nature preserves in the Goose Lake area. She found great pleasure in reading and traveling, as well as spending time outdoors gardening. Jane was also a lover of all animals, but she loved her family most of all and treasured all of the great memories she made over the years with them.

Survivors include her daughter, Julia (Steve) Bonfiglio of Brodhead, Wisconsin, and her step-son, Robert (Debbie) Lindstrand, Jr. of Joliet, Illinois; four grandchildren: Anthony, Gabrielle, Kirsten, and Ashley, and three great grandchildren: Nicholas, Olivia, and Rowan; and two sisters: Barbara Douglas, and Cynthia Bradley; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, James and Janet, and her husband Robert Lindstrand, Sr.; one son, Alan Knudsen, and one grandson, Ryan Knudsen; and two brothers: Robert and Jim Bradley.
