James M. Nugent
Age 46 of Wilmington, passed away suddenly Monday, October 1, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born July 1, 1961 in Joliet.
Jim was a graduate of St. Rose Grade School, Wilmington High School class of 1979 and Joliet Junior College with an associate's degree in mathematics. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of 22 years, having served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant.
He was currently working on his teaching degree at University of St. Francis and student teaching in the Plainfield School District. He was employed with security at University of St. Francis. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing and boating.
Surviving are his father, Donald Russell; two brothers, Steven (Michelle) and Brian Russell; dear aunt, Barbara Nugent; niece, Olivia Russell and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Barbara Nugent; his mother, Peggy Russell and brother, Timothy Russell.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 4th from 3-7 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 N. Joliet St. (two blocks north of IL Route 53/Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 5 from 9-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church. Father Mark Fracaro will officiate.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
Memorials in Jim's name to the Kuzma Cottage would be greatly appreciated.
