JAMES M. BUTCHER, JR.

Age 62 years of Ottawa formerly of Wilmington passed away Wednesday Sept 16, 2009 after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born March 18, 1947 in Joliet. Employee of Caterpillar Tractor Co of Joliet for over 36 years as an inspector. Veteran of the U.S. army serving in Viet Nam from 1967 to 1973.Preceded in death by his father James M. Butcher, Sr., a son Joseph and a brother Charles Butcher.

Survived by his former wife Brenda K. (Stayton) Butcher of Ottawa; his mother Anna Mae (Ray) Butcher-Soave of Joliet; brother of Charlyn (Troy) Gowler of Essex, Anna Marie (Jason) Marshall of Rockport,TX, Fred (Kathy), Paul (Regina) and Richard Lee Butcher all of Wilmington. Step father of Eric, Tammy and Christopher Ewing and Kelly Wheeler; Step brother to Melissa (Todd) Tietz of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. James will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Graveside services Thursday September 24, 2009 at 1:00PM at Oakwood Cemetery Wilmington with military honors by the U.S. Army.
