James R. Bunton

James R. Bunton, 66, of Morris, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
Born April 26, 1956 in Morris, he was the son of Donald and Mable. He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1974. He married Joan Steffes on June 5, 1976 and they lived most of their married life in Morris. He owned and operated Bunton Painting for over 50 years.
He is survived by his children, Jamie Derment of Rutland, Jill (Mitch) Wiekert of Morris and Bob Bunton of New York; his grandchildren, Henry, Emily, Lizzie, James and Ann; one brother, Lee (Brooke) Starks of Mahomet and several nieces and nephews.
Jim is reunited with his beloved wife of 46 years, Joan, who passed on March 3, 2023. Preceding him in death were his parents, Donald Bunton, Mable Starks and Robert Starks; and his son-in-law, Aaron Derment.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
