Jadwiga Sierpina

Age 93 of Morris, passed away Friday afternoon February 24, 2012 at Morris Hospital.

Born September 13, 1918 in Poland, Jadwiga is a daughter of the late Zygmund and Agnieszka Gretkierewicz. She was raised and educated in Poland, and after retirement moved to the United States. Jadwiga resided in Villa Park, Warrenville and most recently Wauponsee Township, Morris. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City and will be remembered for her enjoyment of cooking and traveling.

Survivors include her daughter Ela and son-in-law Krys Szewczyk of Morris; grandson Bart; two brothers: Michak and Julian and four sisters: Hala, Zofia, Rusia and Stefania.

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 26, 2012 between the hours of 2:00PM and 4:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Monday February 27th at 11:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. Interment will be in Poland.
