Jackie Lee Smith
Age 80 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday August 16, 2015 in Wilmington.
Born November 22, 1934 in Morris, Jack was a son of the late William and Velma Albrecht-Smith. He was raised and educated in Coal City, and went on to marry the late Carol Ann Burdick. Jack was a semi-truck driver until retirement in 2000, and treasured his time spent off the road with his family.
Survivors include four children: Vicky (Randy) Sheridan of Houma, Louisiana, Kenneth (Sheila) Smith of Dwight, Melissa (Mike) Rust of Clarksville, Tennessee and April (Jason) Miller of Coal City; fourteen grandchildren: Timothy, James, Amanda, Ashley, Dalton, Barbie, Cassie, Steve, Paige, Samantha, Ronald, Keith, Kody and Makayla; ten great grandchildren; siblings: David (Linda) Smith, William (Pat) Smith, and Paula (Bob) Runty, all of Coal City and Velma Doty of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol on October 10, 2002; daughter: Dawn Farley on March 1, 2015; one sister: Elizabeth "Bette" Cullums on April 10, 2015; and one nephew: Bobby Runty.
Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 2:30 PM in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
