Jackie Lee Meredith

Age 78 of Lake Shannon, passed away Saturday January 25, 2014 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born March 18, 1935, Jack was a son of the late Shannon William and Verna Ann Downs-Meredith. He was raised in Braceville and honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his children: Jackie Meredith of Normal, Chris (Karen) Meredith of Rector, Arkansas, Dawn (Todd) Blankendeckler of Piper City and Jeff Meredith of Stanford; (12) grandchildren; (9) great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: Trilla Fisher of Florida, Freida Lawless of Morris, Millie Stewart of Lockport, Marjorie Clark of Braceville, and Lloyd Meredith and James Meredith, both of Lake Shannon, and the mother of his children: Fran Doughan of Normal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother Bob Meredith and sisters: Dorothy Meredith and Helen Wendell.

Visitation will be held on Thursday January 30, 2014 from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 203 Liberty Street in Gardner. Burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 12:30PM.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jack's memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
