Age 90 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday February 4, 2015 at her home.

Born July 26, 1924 in Ashland, Wisconsin, Irene was a daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Vieracker) Bowers. She was raised in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School with the Class of 1942. On January 18, 1947, Irene married Kenneth Mack, and together they lived and farmed in rural Coal City.

Survivors include her children: Kenneth (Mary Pat) Mack, Sharon (Harry) Miller, Joan (Richard) Wren and Diane Roy, all of Coal City; ten grandchildren: Debbie (Mark) Crabtree, Judy (Brian) Stevens, Kenneth (Nicole) Mack, Bernadette (Rusty) Partridge, Marti Ann (Josh) Pantaleone-Hintze, Jeffrey Miller, Brad (Aimee) Wren, Kristin Wren, Melanie (Jeff) Sanders and James Nicholas Roy; ten great grandchildren; one sister Joanne Carlson of Superior, Wisconsin and one brother Maytor (Shirley) Bowers of Mason, Wisconsin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth on January 1, 1998, two brothers: Harry and Eugene and two sisters: Adeline and Elaine.

Visitation will be held on Saturday February 7, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Reverend Walter Carlson from the First United Methodist Church in Coal City will officiate. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Irene will be laid to rest with her late husband Kenneth.

Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Mack, Rusty Partridge, Jeff Sanders, Aaron Partridge, Brad Wren and Josh Hintze.
