Irene E. Kratochvil

Age 93 of Coal City, passed away Saturday July 30, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Dwight.

Born June 12, 1918 in Coal City, Irene was a daughter of the late Earl and Anna Chada-Emanuelson. She was raised and educated in Coal City and on March 6, 1937, Irene married Frank J. Kratochvil in Morris. Together they resided in Braidwood and Coal City and Frank preceded Irene in death on January 3, 2008. Irene was a homemaker her entire life and also held employment with Duro's Pot Holder Factory, where she was a textile seamstress for 7 years , as well as catered with Kit and Dahl Caterers. She was a member of the Coal City United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the Friendship Circle and also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary. Irene can be remembered for her love of crocheting and sewing and greatly enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and canning.

Survivors include her three children: Joanne (the late Gary) Ulivi and Lynn (the late Cathy) Kratochvil, both of Coal City and Kathy (Henry) Kuchenbacker of Wilmington; grandchildren: Lisa (Alan) Martis, Sherrie (Frank) Wyss and Kyle Ulivi of Coal City, Alan Kratochvil of Braceville, Brian Kratochvil of Coal City and Joleen Kuchenbacker and Jennifer (Kelly) Radwan, both of Crest Hill; great grandchildren: Amanda Watson, Marissa Ulivi, Kirsty Ulivi, Brandy Ulivi, Paige Ulivi, Jaime Martis, Devon Wyss, Dustin Wyss, Delaney Wyss, Kain Ulivi and Brianna Kratochvil and great-great grandson Caden Shipman, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, grandson Craig (Carolyn) Ulivi, great grandson Gavin Ulivi, son-in-law Gary Ulivi, daughter-in-law Cathy Kratochvil and three brothers: William Emanuelson, Elmer Emanuelson and Fred Emanuelson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 2, 2011 from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Reverend Dr. Thomas Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church in Coal City will officiate and burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Alan Kratochvil, Brian Kratochvil, Kyle Ulivi, Sherrie Wyss, Jennifer Radwan and Joleen Kuchenbacker.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Irene's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6805 East McArdle Road, Coal City, Illinois 60416.
