Ina Johnston

Age 90 of Wilmington, passed away Monday morning December 3, 2012 at Miller Health Care Center in Kankakee.

Born October 24, 1922 in Rockville Township, Manteno, Ina was a daughter of the late Ward and Myrtle Taylor-Lownes. She was raised and educated in Kankakee and on May 8, 1948, married Francis Johnston in the DeSelm United Methodist Church. Ina was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Will County Farm Bureau and the Florence Community Club. She will be remembered as a great cook, known for her homemade pies, and greatly cherished her family and farming.

Survivors include her two sons: Willard (Jackie) Johnston and Douglas (Nola) Johnston, both of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Alan (Kelley) Johnston, Julie (Jamie) Quigley, Jeanette Johnston and Nancy Johnston; four great grandchildren: McKenna Quigley, Ryan Quigley, Alyssa Johnston and Anthony Johnston, and several nieces and nephews, as well as special friends: Vance and Judi Jones.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis on January 5, 2002 and sister Helen Curl.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Friday December 7, 2012 between the hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Saturday December 8th at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Bev Dehler and Deacon Don Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Vance L. Jones, Daniel Curl, Gary Rabideau, James Johnson, Brian Jirus and Jamie Quigley. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alan Johnston, Julie Quigley, Jeanette Johnston and Nancy Johnston.
