Imogene G. Leonard

Age 85 of Wilmington, passed away Friday July 20, 2012 at The Bickford of Bourbonnais.

Born April 13, 1927 in Whiting, Indiana, Imogene was a daughter of the late Ralph and Edna Ehlers-Eberly. She was raised and educated in Whiting, where she also married Richard J. Leonard, Sr. in Saint John's Catholic Church on July 31, 1948. Richard preceded Imogene on May 21, 2012. She worked many years as a bookkeeper and cashier for A&P and also helped her late husband on the farm, in which she dearly loved. Imogene will be remembered for her creativity and it was truly demonstrated with her cooking and sewing.

Imogene is the mother of: Karen (Tom) Woock of Cook, Minnesota, Pamela (Joe) Fonck of Wilmington, Audrey (Dennis) Koehn of New York Mills, Minnesota and Richard J. (Debra) Leonard, Jr. of Wilmington; grandmother of eleven: Valerie (Russ) Werkmeister, Christopher (Tina) Fonck, Sharon (Mike) Haley, Joe Fonck, Andy Fonck, Cyndi (Jeff) Young, Brian (Lisa) Koehn, Kevin (fiancAC. Emily) Leonard, Patrick (Selena) Leonard, Mark (Wendy) Leonard, Brandi (David) Schlieper; great grandmother of nineteen: Cole, Allison, Cody, Riley, Jake, Jordan, Sean, Declan, Issac, Jason, Justin, Brent, Faith, Payton, Owen, Michael, Evan, Addison and Jonathan; great-great grandmother of Ethan and Carissa; sister of the late Donald (Sandra) Eberly of Indianapolis, Indiana and aunt of Lisa Kappel and Laura Kirwin.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday July 22, 2012 between the hours of 2:00PM and 5:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Monday July 23rd at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Pastor Ron Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood with Imogene's grandsons acting as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
