Ida Elizabeth Zaccaria

Age 92 of Coal City, passed away Saturday February 6, 2010 at home with her loving family by her side.

Born January 8, 1918 in Gardner to the late Thomas and Rachel (Severson) Thompson. Ida was raised on a farm in rural Gardner, attended the country grade school, and graduated from Reddick High School with the class of 1935. On September 11, 1940, Ida married Paul "Babe" Zaccaria in Davenport, Iowa. All of their married life they lived in Coal City. Ida and her husband owned and operated Babe's Tap from 1958 until 1971 and she was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are her loving children: Larry (Judy) Zaccaria of Wilmington, Nancy (William "Bill") Endrst of Coal City, Eugene (Jean Ann) Zaccaria of Morris and Donna Lynn Zaccaria of Coal City; two grandsons: Eugene William Reader and William "Dana" (Gail) Endrst of Coal City; two great grandchildren: William "Will" and Brady Endrst; two sisters: Leona (the late Don) Miller of Sandwich, IL and Phyllis Jean (the late Almer) Sandberg of Elburn, IL; sister-in-law JoAnn (the late Philip) Thompson of Kankakee, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul on March 18, 1986; grandson Brian Quinn Reader; great grandson Joshua Paul Endrst; three sisters: Mae T. Sandeno, Lillian Dumdie and Marion Dumdie and two brothers: Philip Thompson and Russell Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Robert Noesen officiating and burial will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Eugene Reader, William "Dana" Endrst, Mike Wills, David Dundie, Greg Dumdie, Kevin Miller and Kim Miller

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers; made as gifts in Ida's memory to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church for Masses or Assumption Building Fund would be appreciated.
