Henry James Alberico, Sr.
"Hank"
Age 86 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday morning March 14, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Born June 4, 1926 in Lockport, Illinois, Hank was a son of the late Peter and Constance Buccifero-Alberico. He was raised and educated in Crest Hill and attended Lockport Township High School. Hank honorably served in the United States Navy and on September 26, 1953, he married Rose Marie Crutchfield in the Wilmington Methodist Church. Hank worked as a Laborer and retired from the Laborers Local #75 out of Joliet in 1989. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington and the Wilmington VFW Post #5422. Hank will be remembered as a true family man, whose family was extremely important to him. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and sports, and was an ultimate Wilmington Wildcat supporter and fan. Hank shared many memorable times cooking spaghetti and ravioli with his wife, kids and grandkids, and was a regular member of the 'Faletti coffee clutch'.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rose; two children: Theresa Madl (Terence) of Evanston, Illinois and Henry James "Jim" Alberico, Jr. (Theresa) of Wilmington; seven grandchildren: Jason Madl (fiancAC. Toni) of Palatine, Kate Madl of Chicago, Jeffrey Madl and Allison Madl of Evanston, and Christopher Alberico, Katie Alberico and Liz Alberico, all of Wilmington; one brother Eugene (Janet) Alberico of Plainfield; one sister-in-law Ruth (Don) Gresham and one brother-in-law Bob (Becky) Crutchfield, both of Wilmington and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter Emalie Madl (1991); brothers and sisters: Dan (Louise) Nunzie, Ange (Sam) DeAngelis, Phyllis (Ray) Mutz, Edith (Chris) Alberico and one brother in infancy, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Basil (Ann) Crutchfield; Bill (Clarie) Crutchfield, Barney (Leanna) Crutchfield, and Rita Mae Crutchfield.
The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church, 401 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Monday March 18, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM. Funeral services will follow Tuesday March 19th at 11:00AM in the church with Reverend H. Jae Lee officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Hank's Grandchildren: Jason Madl, Kate Madl, Jeffrey Madl, Allison Madl, Christopher Alberico, Katie Alberico and Liz Alberico will serve as pallbearers.
