Age 79 of Braidwood passed away Friday morning September 27, 2013 at his home.

Born July 13, 1934 in Olney, Illinois Harvey was a son of the late David Edward and Clara Nettleton-Blain. He was raised in Olney, graduated from Richland County High School in Noble, Illinois with the class of 1952 and attended Bible College. In October of 1956 Harvey married Anna Katherine Meadows and she survives. Harvey worked as a terminal manager for Transus until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Island City Baptist Church in Wilmington. In his free time, Harvey enjoyed bowling, riding his bike, playing pool and roller skating. He loved his birds, especially Charlie, and will be remembered as a true gentle and godly man.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Anna; three children: David (Meredith) Blain of California, Mark Blain of Texas and John (Denise) Blain of Wimington; (15) grandchildren; (10) great grandchildren; one sister Nina Smith of Texas; one brother Clarence Blain and three brother-in-laws: Richard (Marilyn) Meadows of Ohio; Frank Meadows of Courtland, Illinois and David Meadows of Glendale Heights, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Richard Blain; one daughter: Kathy McKibbin and two brothers: David and Charles Blain.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Monday September 30, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Tuesday morning October 1st at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Blain, Jr., Shayne Peterson, Mike Jopek, Dan Jopek, Gabriel McKibbin, Manuel McKibbin and Paul Blain.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Harvey's memory to Island City Baptist Church, 120 Vine Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481 or to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, 482 Main Street NW Bourbonnais, Illinois 60914.
