Age 56 of Joliet formerly of Braidwood and Wilmington, passed away Monday Oct 19, 2009 At Provena St. Joseph's Medical Center Joliet. Born January 22, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the The late Harold P. & Hazel (Metcalfe) Riggs, Sr. also preceded in death by two sisters Barbara Schaffer and Valerie Jean Riggs, two brothers Carl Arnold & Johnny Ray Riggs. Survived by his former wife Edna; three children Stacey (Anthony) Slush, Sharie (Patrick) Dettman and Harold P. "Buddy" Riggs III all of Gardner; six loving grandchildren who will miss him dearly; his close friend Angela Cassineri; five brothers Jim (Joyce) of Joliet, Louis (Wendy) of Tennesse, Dennis of Wilmington Jerry (Barb) Riggs and Donald (Penny) Riggs all of Wilmington; four sisters Charlene (Late Joseph) DeBoard of Odell, Heraldine(Gene) Bergman of Missouri, Joyce Beckham of California and Betty (Gerald) Hatfield of Wilmington, numerous nieces and nephews. Former owner/operator of Braidwood CB Center & Towing and A + Automotive Repair Center of Joliet. Owner of Accelerated Racing Team racing Super Pro Drags At Route 66 Chicagoland Drag Strip Joliet. Visitation Friday Oct 23, 2009 from 4 to 8PM at the Freitag Funeral Home Wilmington. Services Saturday Oct 24, 2009 at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Rev. Caleb Counterman of the Faith Baptist Church of Morris. Interment Oakwood Cemetery Wilmington.
