Harold L. Lyons

Age 89 of Plainfield and Tyler, Texas, passed away Saturday October 3, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.

Born August 8, 1920 in Joliet, Harold was a US Navy Veteran who served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Local Teamsters and retired as a truck driver from Ruan Trucking in the early 1980's. Harold was known for his carpentry, woodworking and mechanical abilities and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his granddaughter Colleen (Rick) Guinto of Joliet; great grandchildren: Andrew, Bradley, Danielle and Nathan Guinto and numerous other relatives and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Flo (nee Minnick) in 1978, daughter Sharon McNamara (2006), grandson Sean McNamara (2003) and his longtime companion Helen Urbanski.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Tuesday October 6, 2009 between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road in Joliet (815-744-0022). Funeral services will then follow on Wednesday October 7, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Deacon Fred Straub officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.
