"Judy"

Age 73 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday evening October 23, 2011 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.

Born February 18, 1938 in Bitburg Germany, Judy was a daughter of the late Jakob and Magdalena Josefine (Trost) Gantner. She has been a Wilmington resident since 1966, and was member of Saint Rose Catholic Church and the Wilmington Women of the Moose. "German Judy" was a waitress for 22 years from 1979 to 2001 at the former Riviera Restaurant in Gardner, as well as at Drake's Farm and The Market Place. Judy was an award winning snow skier in Germany and she enjoyed gardening, family outings, horses, dogs and the infamous CUBS.

Survivors include her loving husband Russell L. Deihs; three children: Russell "Rusty" (Rochelle) Deihs, Kathy (Tim) Quigley and Vicky (Tom) Spangler all of Wilmington. Seven Grandchildren: Joseph, Ricky, Dylan, Lucas, Summer, Sara & Hailey; two Great Grandchildren: Rustin and Sylar; two sisters: Heidi Strohm of Germany and Elke Robbins of New York; special niece: Anya DePaul and several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Uta.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011 from 10:00AM until time of services 1:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Reverend Steven Bondi from Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington will officiate.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Judy's memory to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
