Glenn E. Estensen, 76, of Newark, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with his family by his side.
Born October 19, 1945 in Morris, he was the son of Theodore and Edith (Anderson) Estensen. He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1963. He served in the U S Air Force in Korea and Vietnam. Glenn married Kay Johnson on April 20, 1974 at the Newark Lutheran Church. They lived all of their married life in Newark. He was employed for many years at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Aurora and later at Oberweis Dairy in Aurora.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kay; two children, Christopher (Nancy) Estensen of Custer Park and Mindy (Nathan) Muehlberg of Marseilles; four grandchildren, Emily Estensen and Paul, Joshua and Sarah Muelhberg; one brother, Paul (Jill) Estensen of Cardiff, Ca.; one sister, Diane Johnson of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son Matthew.
He was an active member of the Newark Lutheran Church, served on the Newark High School Board for 12 years and a retired member of the Newark Fire Department.
Glenn was a fan of the Chicago Bears, NASCAR fan, enjoyed doing yard work, helped Kirk Anderson in farming and traveling.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Newark Lutheran Church with Pastor Jon Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Also visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
