Glenda Lee Decker
Age 65 of Morris passed away passed away Thursday January 15, 2009.
Born September 13, 1943 in Marion County, Illinois, Glenda is a daughter of Edna Boyles-Hood of Salem, Illinois and the late Noel Hood. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School with the graduating class of 1961. Glenda married Lawrence G. Decker in Kell, Illinois on September 10, 1964 and together they lived in the Channahon and Morris area their entire married life. Glenda was employed for 30 years as a dispatcher for ECOLAB in Joliet. She was a member of the Kell Baptist Church in Kell, IL and a former member of the Eastern Star. Glenda enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, attending their activities and playing in her garden and pond.
Survivors include her children: Deanna (Mark) Long of Coal City and Stephen Decker of Morris; her mother: Edna Frances Hood of Salem, Illinois; 5 grandchildren: Stephanie Long, Cody Decker, Matthew Long, Dylan Decker and Jordyn Decker; one brother: Ronald (Linda) Hood of Omega, IL; one niece: Cindy and one nephew: Jeff.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father: Noel Hood; her first husband: Joe James and her second husband: Lawrence Gene Decker.
A private family memorial service and video tribute will be held per Glenda's wishes.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Glenda's memory to Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice.
