"Gerry"
Age 87 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Silver Cross Medical Center in Joliet.
Born March 24, 1924 in Joliet, Gerry was a daughter of the late Curtis and Emma Johnson-Clark. She was employed with UniRoyal at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant prior to working canteen services at Johnson and Johnson Personal Products in Wilmington. Most recently Gerry also was the Senior Service Coordinator with Meals on Wheels through the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington. She was a member of the Malcolm J. Mayo VFW Women's Auxiliary in Wilmington and can be remembered for her love of shopping and bingo.
Survivors include her husband Charles "Chuck" Anderson of Wilmington; four children: Barbara (Donald) Dyer of Wilmington, Ginger (Jack) Nelson of New Lenox, Clark "Corky" Feeney and Michael "Mickey" Feeney, both of Wilmington; (10) grandchildren: Stacie Olavasen (Helge) of Wilmington, Timothy "Tad" Dyer (Renee) of Yorkville, Christina Dyer (Leif Ekberg), William Dyer (Tommie) and Mary Dyer, all of Wilmington, Jack Nelson of Joliet, Marcia Nelson (Joe Ferraro) of Riverview, Florida, Cindy Steffen (Mike) of Channahon, Jim Nelson (Erin) of Petersburg, Illinois and Tom Nelson of Durant, Florida; (27) Great Grandchildren: Bobby (Terra) Watters of Wilmington, Brandi Watters of Indiana, Brent (Pam) Watters of Wilmington, Matt, Josh and Nick Turnbulls and Tommy Dyer, all of Yorkville, Tristen, Aidan and Nolan Ekburg and Hunter, Dalton, Dakota Dyer, all of Wilmington, Doug (Ashley) Nelson of New Lenox, Jack, Cassie, Jessica and Ryan Nelson all of Peotone, Isabella, Joe and Chelsey Ferraro of Riverview, Florida, James (Pam) Steffen of Joliet, Joe, Alexis and Jake Steffen of Channahon and Eden and Laurel Nelson of Petersburg, Illinois and (8) great-great grandchildren: Kierra and Jacynda, Jacob, Stella and Joshua Watters, Andrew Steffen, Evan and Kaleb Nelson.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; one son Thomas Feeney (1973), former husband and father of her children: Bill Feeney (1996) and one brother Grant (Mitzi) Clark.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Thursday July 7, 2011 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. (815/476-2181)
Funeral services will follow on Friday July 8th at 10:00AM in the funeral home, with Gerry's son-in-law Deacon Donald Dyer officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington, and pallbearers will be: Tad Dyer, Bill Dyer, Jim Nelson, Tom Nelson, Bobby Watters and Brent Watters.
