George J. Voss

Age 87 of Camarillo, California and formerly Chicago, passed away Wednesday, October 01, 2008 in Simi Valley, California.

Born August 23, 1921, George was a son of the late Herman and Susan Goetzinger-Voss. He was a veteran, having served during World War II in the US Army Air Corp and was a member of Teamster Locals 717 and 714.

Survivors include his wife Dolores nee Levin; children: Linda (Steve) Loiselle, Michael (Alice) Voss, Robert Voss, Margaret (Gary) Augensen and John (Tina) Voss; grandchildren: Melanie, Emily, Michael L., Daniel, Thomas, Michael V., William, Matt, Evan and Madeleine; two sisters: Margaret Voss and Dorothy (the late Bernie) O'Connell and one brother Clarence (Jean) Voss.

George was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Henry (Isabel), Charles (Dorothy), William (Betty) and Raymond (Jean) and two sisters: Florence (Roy) Payne and Loretta Voss.

Visitation will be held on Monday October 13, 2008 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM and Tuesday October 14th from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Tuesday at 11:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
