George "Frank" Shipman

Age 70 of Goose Lake and formerly Chicago, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 17, 1942 in Chicago, Frank was a son of the late Hobert and Cecil Robinson-Shipman. He was raised and educated in the Canaryville neighborhood and on May 19, 1962, Frank married Renee Paraday. Frank was employed for over twenty years with Continental Can Company in Bridgeview until it closed. He then went to work for United Systems in Mokena until his retirement in 2007. In Frank's free time he enjoyed going out on his son's pontoon boat. He was a also a great sports fan and loved watching the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty one years, Renee; two children: Frank (Jenn) Shipman of Morris and Daniel Shipman of Goose Lake; six grandchildren: Jason (Marissa) Shipman of Coal City, Heather Shipman of Goose Lake, Kassandra "Boo" Shipman of Coal City, Danny Shipman and Corey Shipman, both of Carol Stream and Colby Shipman of Colorado; one great grandchild: Caden Shipman; one sister: Billie Rose Russell of Florida; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, including his special brother-in-law Larry Paraday, as well as nieces and nephews including special niece Danelle Kesha.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one son Michael Shipman (June 14, 2010)

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 1:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Chaplain Terry Ann Dumyahn from Vitas Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.

Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Frank's memory to his family for their distribution.
