George A. Enrietta

Age 95 of Diamond, passed away Sunday morning July 14, 2013 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 3, 1918 in Danville, Illinois, George was a son of the late Bernard and Elvera Ganz-Enrietta. He was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1936. George honorably served in the United States Army during World War II throughout the European Theatre of Operations. On July 16, 1960, he married Mary J. Berta in New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City and together they made their home in Diamond. George worked at Berta Lumber Company, and retired as the company manager after 52 years. He also farmed many years in the area. George was an active member and deacon of New Hope Presbyterian Church; was a founding member of the Coal City Area Club, and belonged to the Coal City Civic Club and the Morris Camera Club. George remained very active into recent years and had a love of gardening, which especially included working in his yard. He enjoyed Chicago sports, photography, and many trips to Door County, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Mary; four nephews: John (Claudyne) Hill of Lancaster, Ohio, David (Carol) Hill of Charlottesville, Virginia, Bob (Chris) Fulton of Galesburg, Illinois and Tom Fulton of Coal City; several great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.

George was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Marie (Leroy) Hill and Vera Margaret Enrietta.

Visitation and video tribute will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street (at First Street) in Coal City on Tuesday July 16, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM. Funeral services will follow Wednesday July 17th in the church at 10:00AM. Reverend Nate Manzo will officiate and burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Pallbearers will be: John Hill, David Hill, Bob Fulton, Tom Fulton, Brian Fulton and Nick O'Bert. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tony Bosenetta, Leroy Wakeman and Glenn Baker.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in George's memory to: New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street, Coal City, Illinois 60416.
