George M. Ellis

Age 75 of Wilmington passed away Sunday April 12, 2009 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Born October 3, 1933 to the late Samuel & Goldie (Creed) Ellis. Also preceded by a son Michael, and a grandson Christopher. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Chamberlin) Ellis, Sons; Dan (Nancy) of Minooka, Carl (Lynn) of Wilmington, and Brian (fiancAC. Elaine) of Wilmington. 6 grandchildren; Jennifer (fiancAC. John), Steve, Kimberly, Carl Jr. (C.J.), Nicole, and Melissa. Several Great-grandchildren. One Brother John (Marge) Ellis, Sister- in- law Margie (Leonard deceased) Zdznicki, Brother- in- law Jerry (Joanie) Chamberlin . Numerous Nieces, Nephews, cousins and special feline buddy Heidi Ann also survive. Owner of Ellis' IGA in Minooka for 26 years. 20 year veteran of the New Lenox Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for approximately 10 years. Member of the Wilmington Moose lodge # 241. In Lieu of flowers, memorials for the wishes of the family would be appreciated. Visitation at The Freitag Funeral Home Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 3-8 P.M. with a memorial ceremony by the Moose lodge at 7 P.M. Prayer service at the Freitag Funeral home on Friday April 17, 2009 at 10 A.M. with Deacon Donald Dyer of St. Rose church in Wilmington officiating. Interment Woodlawn memorial Park in Joliet
