Gayle L. Hutchings

Gayle L. Hutchings, 67, of Gardner, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood with her family by her side.
Born September 28, 1956 in Morris, she was the daughter of Duane and Elsa (Wiborg) Hutchings. She graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1974. Later she attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina. For over 30 years she was employed at Lyondell Chemical Company in Morris.
She is survived by her children, Amy (Ryan) Schmidt of Antioch and Jessica Buckbee of Streator; one grandson, Christian Schmidt; one sister, Gwen Niles of Ottawa; one brother, Edward (Deb) Shrum of Joliet; her life partner, John Miles of Gardner; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Timothy and Eric.
She was a member of the Gardner Seniors Club.
Gayle was an avid sewer and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family, grandson and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Inurnment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
